Git - revert a single file to a specific commit

1. Use 'git log' to view the history of commits and get the commit ID of the commit you want to revert the file to.

2. Use 'git checkout <the commit ID> -- <path_to_the_file>

 

$>git checkout b3df0dd23e8830f0bf9ad3dd9ed661def8fb6960 -- config.json

$>git status
On branch main
Your branch is up to date with 'origin/main'.

Changes to be committed:
(use "git restore --staged <file>..." to unstage)
modified: config.json
